EEA agreement means that Norway must issue regulations on a number of specific quality requirements for drinking water. These regulations include drinking water for use in the food industry for the production and manufacture nikkan of food products, which affect on the finished product is hygienically suitable. These regulations do not apply to water utilities. The regulation also requires nikkan methods for sampling and testing.
The regulation comes as an addition to nasjonel Regulations 1951 and does not replace the old regulations. The regulations do not cover fully the obligations to potable nikkan water as the EEA Agreement nikkan obliges the country. Drinking water quality to the consumer nikkan is not covered.
